Welcome to stillsomestuff! We're a small shop built around two things we genuinely love: well-made vintage cameras and baroque pearl jewelry. It might sound like an odd pairing at first — old mechanics and ocean-grown gems — but to us, they come from the same place. Both are unrepeatable. No two cameras have lived the same life, and no two pearls are ever quite the same shape.

In a world where everything feels mass-produced and disposable, we wanted to hold onto things that still feel like they have a story.

Wearing Time: Our Pearls

A photograph freezes a second. A pearl does something similar — it's nature's own record of time, grown slowly and quietly underwater. In Chinese Five Elements philosophy, pearls belong to Water, one of the five elements alongside Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. Water is about flow and intuition — and in Feng Shui, it's also closely tied to wealth, since it represents abundance moving freely instead of sitting still.

That's part of why pearls are traditionally recommended for people born in summer, when Fire runs strong and Water can feel scarce, or for anyone whose Bazi chart shows low Water. Wearing pearls is a small, gentle way to bring that balance back.

That said, you don't need a Water deficiency to wear one. Pearls are really for anyone who wants a bit more flow and fortune in their life — which, let's be honest, is most of us.

My mum is the one behind this part of the shop. She travels to source our pearls in person, picking through them by hand to find ones with real shape and luster. We pair them with simple, delicate hardware so they're easy to wear every day — a small, quiet thing that might just invite a little more good luck your way.
